The government may use your tax money to finance anti-education, to pump huge money into close associates’ bank accounts, even to spend it on luxury trips abroad. But you’re used to all that. It’s the little things that can really annoy.<\/p>\n
One of them being the Ministry of Agriculture, recently publishing an official paper, promoting so-called “agriculture according to the Bible”. Apparently, the government is going to officially spend 300,000 Shekels of our money, for research of: “Minimizing ‘Orlah’ in fruits” (the biblical command to avoid eating fruits produced by a tree during first 3 years after planting), or: “Improve agro-technology of growing the four species” (4 types of plants required by Jewish religious rules during the holiday of Sukkoth).<\/p>\n
