I have heard this line of thought several times — You talk with a religious Jew about the borders of the State of Israel, you raise all kinds of considerations: The need for a Jewish majority, the need for secured borders, the much-needed support of the various countries of the world, the Palestinians, the economy etc.<\/p>\n
But then you hear a new argument which you neglected to mention: Even if you are right with everything you just said, there is a God in Heaven, in which we trust to help us make this country completely ours. He promised this, you know.<\/p>\n
Actually, the religious Jews have no exclusivity on this argument, and you can hear similar things from other worldwide (as well as local) religious groups as well. Yet it’s kind of disturbing to have your government strongly rely on people that reason that way. What’s next?
