There is a big thing in Israel against Reform Judaism (a.k.a. Progressive Judaism). The opposition comes mainly from Orthodox Jews, but they have managed to indoctrinate many others into considering Reform Jews as some sort of evil. In fact, you can find many statements emphasizing that Reform Jews are “even” worse than “Goyim” – the Hebrew term for gentiles, or “non-Jews”.
This attitude is largely hypocritical. Real history (rather than the Orthodox view of history) teaches us about religions and cultures constantly evolving, and that include Judaism. It very much includes Judaism. In fact there is very little between nowadays Orthodox Judaism and biblical time things around here in the Middle East. Today’s Orthodox Jews appearing in ancient Judea – would have been considered aliens.
In fact, Judaism has gone through several reforms during the years. One of them, for example, was around 2000 years ago, when the “Pharisees” defeated the “Sadducees” in the battle for changing the common Jewish belief of those times. In a way, today’s Orthodox Jews are yesterday’s Reform Jews.
A rough diagram of Judaism evolution may look like the following, and this is just one small corner of the world:
