It’s the little things that piss you off.
The government may use your tax money to finance anti-education, to pump huge money into close associates’ bank accounts, even to spend it on luxury trips abroad. But you’re used to all that. It’s the little things that can really annoy.
One of them being the Ministry of Agriculture, recently publishing an official paper, promoting so-called “agriculture according to the Bible”. Apparently, the government is going to officially spend 300,000 Shekels of our money, for research of: “Minimizing ‘Orlah’ in fruits” (the biblical command to avoid eating fruits produced by a tree during first 3 years after planting), or: “Improve agro-technology of growing the four species” (4 types of plants required by Jewish religious rules during the holiday of Sukkoth).
Now we are happy. Finally we can have a good night’s sleep. Our money has found its best use ever.
